The bridge dominates the valley by its power to cut through the landscape.
The idea to have the companies face each other was to show the power of influence they could have on each other that would make competition rise and profit increase.


Facebook was designed freely without any restrictions to show power of freedom. The design is made to accommodate several people which the company demands as it is the power of ideas that make the company run.



Coca cola has the power to influence others by its market value and profits. Hence the companies architecture speaks of a freedom to conquer and rise. The design is more spacious that Facebook which is the requirement of the company.


The meeting place was made it sit on the bridge in a unique way at a lower level, away from the rule of both companies. It is designed to be a place where both the companies can express their ideas.
The interiors speak of freedom and space. A place where no one is restricted to speak their word or is under ones influence.

 Experiment2



Monument 1:  Is linked to client number one which is Sanna.

Sanna's work displays detached building elements and hence the concept of "Disorientation" reflects the idea of monument1.











Monument 2: Is linked to client number two, Walter Gropius.

Walter Gropius believes in the separation of building elements....that is he believes in separating the inside from the outside.Hence the concept of "Space as a function" relates to monument 2.

“Why still speak of the real and the virtual, the material and immaterial? Here these categories are not in opposition, or in some metaphysical disagreement, but more in an electroliquid aggregation, enforcing each other, as in a two part adhesive.”
   
The concept of "Space as a function" and "Disorientation" developed from the first two monuments   are added together  they would ideally form a concept which opposes the presence of each other but in this case they stick together like a two part adhesive enforcing each other to form a new product. Being detached(or disoriented) from the  continuity of the environment and  to stand as a free object helps develop spaces within the monument and outside which function not in accordance with the environment but to give a purpose to the relationship between the environment and monument.


Stairs in this case are creating spaces to develop a function with the environment nearby even though it stands free detached from the surrounding.

Hence when "Disorientation" is added with "Space as a function" we produce a new concept of "Real and virtual spaces". Spaces that cannot be defined just by looking at them as they may be detached from its surrounding but still performing a function as space.




Architecture as an "Object"


The final monument reflects more detailing so as to understand its relationship with the environment.

Textures:



3 textures selected:

-I have applied the dark texture to areas in the monument dat gain more light during the day cause it helps highlight that part of the monument without making it hide with the environment.


-The medium texture is applied to areas in the monument that receive optimum light during the day so as to make it feel balanced with the environment.

-Light textures where applied to elements in the building that received least amount of light so that it feels free and easy to approach in the environment.

Final Monument + Crysis:









An element of the building is immersed in water producing a virtual space according to human eye which was created by being disoriented and at the same time functioning as a space.
The monument fits into the landscape by attaching itself to a raised mountain cliff and therefore produces a real space that again functions by linking two different spaces which is the monument with the environment.

















The horizontal slab creates a virtual space in our eyes again seeming impossible to be there but by being detached from the surrounding,  it is able to perform a function of free space.



The stairs in this case appear to be real as its disorientation with the environment helps perform a function of space by connecting two elements of the building.
